BREWING COFFEE
First and foremost, it's important to brew your coffee the way you like it. Don't be afraid to experiment with different grinds, ratios, and temperatures to find your perfect cup. You don't need expensive equipment to make great coffee. A simple drip machine or even over a campfire can produce fantastic results.
Here are a few tips to try:
-
Use fresh, quality beans: The type of beans you use can greatly impact the flavor of your coffee. Look for beans that are roasted within the past month.
-
Grind your beans right before brewing: Grinding your beans right before brewing will help to preserve their flavor and aroma.
-
Try different brewing methods: Each method produces a unique flavor profile, so don't be afraid to try a few different techniques to see which one you like best.
-
Experiment with ratios: The ideal coffee to water ratio will vary from bean to bean and person to person depending on taste.
Have fun and enjoy the process of making your perfect cup of coffee.
Whole beans will stay fresher longer, so try not to grind until you are ready to brew.
Use 195F to 205F filtered (not distilled) water if your tap water does not taste good.
We recommend starting with 2 tbsp of coffee to 6 oz of water (1:16 coffee to water ratio).
Store whole bean coffee away from sunlight, heat and moisture.
